Hola y bienvenidos! Hello and welcome! This will be a place for photos and brief comments about my time in Chile this summer and fall (2010), while on the hunt for degus and cururos. For more detailed descriptions about our work and experiences while here, I refer readers to the other quality blogs in the links, written by my fellow explorers: Rachel, Morgan, Monica, and Michael. Enjoy!

Una desfile y un cafe
We live really close to La Moneda Palace, the presidential building, and the other day we saw horses and a band lining up on our street. What on earth could it be? Why, a parade for the changing of the guard, of course!

Normally I don't drink coffee, but it's hard to say no when a Blackberry Moka looks this good...

Hola from Chile! Welcome to my mini photoblog, where I will post a samplings of photos to document my time in Santiago, Chile. Expect my usual animal, field, and food obsessions. I will also post separate links for more photos. Please also check out the blogs of my fellow travelers/explorers here. They have some seriously awesome blogs. =) Bienvenidos y gracias por visitante!
From the city: Santiago
View on a clear day from the top of Santa Lucia hill (most days the smog is too thick to see much):
At the Santiago airport waiting for my flight to New Jersey:
From the field: Rinconada de Maipú
Cururo (looking like a skunk because we were trying to dye it):
Degu:
From the mountains
Happy July 4th from the Andes!
